ROBO CALLING CARPET CLEANER SCUMBAGS CAUGHT!

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke

"Are your carpets dirty? This is Ray with the carpet, tile, and furniture cleaning experts..."

"Hello, are your carpets dirty? This is Ray with the carpet, tile, and furniture cleaning experts. And for a limited time, we will clean as many rooms as you like for as low as $9.95 per room. That's right, as low as $9.95 per room. And of course, hallways, closets, and bathrooms are always free. We are also currently having super cleaning specials on our furniture cleaning, our oriental rug cleaning, our hardwood floor cleaning, and our tile and grout cleaning. If you'd like to hear more about super cleaning specials, or if you'd like to schedule an appointment..."

Sound familiar??

I've been getting these obnoxious telemarketing robocalls on my cell phone, home phone, and work phone on and off for YEARS! ... sometimes several times per week!

After doing a little research, I've discovered that this same script has been used by robocallers in several cities including Sacramento, San Jose, Boise, Reno and Las Vegas ... and going back AT LEAST TEN YEARS!

You can hear their obnoxious message here:

Recently, I answered the phone to once again hear this annoying message. It came from the phone number:

1-877-805-9411

After looking this number up, it appears to be a spoofed number used by a scumbag robocall company, as calls coming from this number were associated with both spam carpet cleaning calls as well as an overpriced, high pressure sales shooting range/training facility called "Front Sight" on the outskirts of Las Vegas. (Any thought of ever visiting Front Sight has gone out the window now that I know they employ robocall/telemarketing companies!)

Calling the number back, I got some type of lame, bogus "opt out" message... a total scam. Why can't the authorities shut these scumbag robocall/telemarketing companies down once and for all and toss the owners in prison where they belong?

So a variety of companies are using the same loser telemarketing/robocall company to break the law (I'm obviously on the Do Not Call List) and harass people with their nuisance calls.

But this time, when I got the call, instead of hanging up, I went ahead and pressed "2" (to set up an appointment). I then got a message that "all representatives are busy."

However, a little later that day I got another call from an "Anonymous" / blocked phone number. And guess what? It was for carpet cleaning! Shocker!

The caller said his name was Tony and his cell phone number was

702-333-5795

He said that he and his brother had a company called

"A1 Carpet, Tile, and Furniture Cleaning"

But oddly he describes his company on his voicemail as:

"Carpet, Tile, and Furniture Cleaning Experts"

We found no legitimate listing for either company in Las Vegas.

(We did locate this BBB listing for an out of business Las Vegas company using a Sacramento-area phone number: https://www.bbb.org/southern-nevada/business-reviews/carpet-and-rug-cleaners/carpet-tile-and-furniture-cleaning-experts-in-las-vegas-nv-73814. Hmm...)

As it turns out, they change the name of their bogus company frequently to avoid getting caught. I went through this same exercise a couple of years ago and the company name was different, something like America's Best Carpet Care (other alleged names they've used include The Cleaning Experts, Chapman Carpet Care, Overnight Carpet Cleaning, Authorized Cleaning Service, Carpet Care Plus).

Make no mistake, these people are the absolute scum of the earth. They break the law and endlessly harass people with their obnoxious robocalls... again, and again, and again... week after week, month after month, year after year.

I put Tony on a brief hold, then pulled up Google maps and set up an appointment for a random address in a neighborhood near me.

When the time came for my "appointment," I got a call from "Tony" saying he was on his way. I headed over to the fake address and watched his crummy unmarked van pull up to the random house.

I watched these bottom feeding scumbags get out all of their cheap equipment, only to find no one was home!

Poor little scumbag robocallers, driving all the way across the Las Vegas valley to a non-existent appointment and setting up their junky gear for nothing!

At that point he called me. I was more than happy to answer (while observing from a distance), and explain that he'd written down the wrong address. I then directed him to another, similar sounding address further up the street! HA!

They then proceeded to the new location in their crappy unmarked van with their crappy carpet cleaning equipment. Two absolute flippin' losers!

That's when I started taking pictures. : )

If you are stupid enough to order carpet cleaning services from a scumbag robocaller, this is the crappy unmarked run down van that will show up:

ROBO CALLING CARPET CLEANER'S JUNKY UNMARKED VAN

And these are the low-life losers you'll be inviting into your home, perhaps to case the place or steal your belongings when you're not looking:

TONY THE ROBO CALL CARPET MAGGOT, PHONE NUMBER: 702-333-5795
Yes, folks, this is one of the scumbags behind those years of relentless carpet-cleaning robocalls you've been getting -- live and in person!

Let's get a closer look:

TONY THE ROBO CALL CARPET MAGGOT, PHONE NUMBER: 702-333-5795
Next came the walk of shame back to the crappy rundown van:

LOW SELF-ESTEEM ROBO CALLING LOSER, PHONE NUMBER: 702-333-5795

Show some dignity... look me in the eye when I'm calling you a robo-calling maggot! : )

ROBO CALL CARPET SCUM GIVING THE FINGER IN UNMARKED VAN, PHONE NUMBER: 702-333-5795

Does anyone in Las Vegas know these losers? This might help:

That's Nevada license plate 437 YNH folks!

Know someone in law enforcement? Have a connection to pull up license plate info? Please post the registration details associated with this plate or any other information you might have on this individual in the comments section below. (By the way, have you ever seen such a crappy run down van?? I'd be embarrassed to have this piece of junk parked outside of my house. And apparently drug abuse runs in the family... no surprise there.)

After their impromptu photo shoot, they got back in their clunker as quickly as they could and sped away. After I got back home, I gave them a call and played their own obnoxious message back to them! Ha!

So there you have it. If you've been victimized by their never-ending harassing robocalls, please call the number 702-333-5795 relentlessly. Play their own message back to them (see the link to YouTube above)... again, and again, and again.

Here's your chance to get even while the number lasts! You're welcome. : )

Better yet, say you got the number from a friend and call to set up a bogus appointment. And the next time they call you, be sure to set up an appointment as well.

Have these a-hole scumbags running to bogus appointments in their crappy rundown van all over town! Or if you really want to take things up a notch, get "creative" with their junky van : ) Do you think these career criminals will risk calling the police? I highly doubt it! It's time to teach these robocalling scum a lesson they won't soon forget!

A Decade of Harrassment

Still not convinced these are scumbag losers who deserve to be fined and/or in prison? Based on our ongoing investigation, we estimate this group is responsible for hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of robocalls in at least three states for a period of at least 10 years. This has been one of the most consistently active robocalling outfits in California, Idaho, and Nevada.

Read this post about the same outfit here: Robo-calls from Carpet, Tile and Furniture Cleaning Experts just won’t stop

Or here: Call Kurtis Investigates: Who’s Behind Illegal Robocalls?

Or here: Robocallers Remain A Scourge

Or here: Carpet Cleaning Telemarketers Get Violent

Or here: "They call every single day... They've called me 12 times today..."

Or here: My carpets are clean and don't call again

And remember, if you pay these scum for their services, you're part of the problem. Never, ever do business with a company that uses telemarketers or robocalls! There are plenty of reputable companies that offer better services that you can easily find on Yelp.

John Belcastro: The Carpet Cleaning Robocall Ringleader Exposed

Here's what we know:
- The same carpet cleaning call has been made to residents in at least three states: California, Nevada, and Idaho.
- They've been robocalling people for at least ten years.
- The lowlifes that show up after an appointment is scheduled are different in different places (it's not one or two guys operating in all of these different locations).

Our initial hunch was that there's one ringleader who has recorded the script, buys or rents phone number lists, then uses shady services like Robodial.org to blast out the calls. He then hires lowlifes and ex-cons off of Craigslist to do the actual service calls, taking a cut on all of the leads he provides.

After some further digging, it turns out that our initial hunch was spot on.

So who is the ringleader? Could it be John Belcastro AKA George Chapman of Las Vegas, Nevada? See this FCC citation for carpet cleaning robocalls, dated April 23, 2007: https://transition.fcc.gov/eb/Orders/2007/DOC-290328A1.html

Scumbag robocaller John Belcastro was ultimately fined $10,000 for running this scheme in Boise, Idaho in 2007, but obviously he never learned his lesson and now needs to go to prison: Carpet Cleaning Solicitor Pays $10,000, Stops Idaho Calls

According to these posts, as well as other information we've obtained, at least one of the ringleaders is in fact John Belcastro ("His real name is John Belcastro, AKA: George Chapman"): https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-702-628-9264

Here's a sample of the Craigslist ad he runs:

LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED CARPET CLEANERS. EARN UP TO 1000.00-1500.00 PER WEEK MUST HAVE VEHICLE AND OWN EQUIPMENT. I SUPPLY ALL THE WORK. SERVING THE ENTIRE LAS VEGAS VALLEY AND HENDERSON. SLAMMERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. START TODAY. TOP COMMISSIONS PAID. OFFICE LOCATED ON SPRING MOUNTAIN AND I-15. PLEASE CALL GEORGE AT 702-475-1632 OR 702 628-9264. HELP WANTED A.S.A.P.

Bizarrely, he actually encourages drug addicts. These are not the people you want in your home or rental property.

John Belcastro: If I were you, I'd be looking over your shoulder. WE ARE ON TO YOU.

We will not distinguish between the ringleader and the people that work for him. You are all in our cross hairs.

If you have additional information, please post it in the comments section below.

How You Can Help

With just a modicum of effort, we were able to obtain a personal cell phone number, a license plate number, photos of one of the perpetrators and their van, and the name of the probable main ringleader John Belcastro. Now we need your help to get these guys arrested and hopefully thrown in prison.
  1. Call the number for "Tony" (702-333-5795) as often as you can. Tell him how you feel about his robocalls. Play their robocall back for him. Book carpet cleaning appointments all over town. We suggest calling this number at least ten times for every time they've robocalled you.
  2. If you book a carpet cleaning appointment, please take photos of the other people involved in this operation. Get in touch through the comments section and we'll post those photos here.
  3. Do you have a recent invoice from a carpet cleaning job that you can share with us?
  4. Let us know if you spot a new Craigslist (or other) ad looking for more carpet cleaners that looks like it might be associated with this robocaller.
  5. Do you have information on the current phone number or whereabouts of John Belcastro? Any photos? Please post in the comments section below or post a way we can reach you. Any information you can provide is helpful for our investigation.
  6. Are you a lawyer interested in a filing a class action lawsuit on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of people they've harassed?

Avoid Robocalls and Telemarketers On Your Smartphone

I've just discovered the FREE "Should I Answer?" app. The app warns you an incoming call is from a robocaller or telemarketer BEFORE you answer. For your smartphone, just download and install the free "Should I Answer?" app -- it's fantastic! Tell your friends!
